Had brief looks at the Black Vulture this morning just southwest of where it was found yesterday in West Bloomfield. Initially I saw it flapping and circling east of Halsted and north of Walnut Lake Rd viewed from Wood Pond Rd and Halsted this was at 10:10 am.  The bird moved out of sight to the east so I pursued down Walnut Lake to the east and up Glen Eagles Drive and saw the bird again at 10:20 to the northeast, showing its distinctive silver wing tips and flatter flight pattern with less soaring than adjacent TV. I had previously looked at the power lines at West Bloomfield Woods Nature Preserve and where those power lines cross Halsted and you can see multiple towers. There are at least a half dozen Turkey Vultures in the immediate vicinity. Good luck if you try for it. We looked for hours yesterday, there are thousands of trees and all kinds of towers and poles for it to perch on BUT its still here!
