The Great-Gray Owl was spotted in Kingsville as reported by other Michlisters. I arrived at 11 and spent about an hour viewing the bird. Prior to reaching the town of Kingsville heading East , look for Road 2 before the Division Gas station, turn left and go approx 1 km to the owl's location. You shouldn't have much trouble spotting the owl, clearly visible but not as close as noted in previous sightings. Look for the cars and people dotting the road, they will point you the way. During my stay it preferred to hunt from a Willow Tree, occasionally flying to attempt and catch prey.
While viewing the Great Gray I received a tip from a fellow birder about Snowy Owls at the Point Pelee Onion fields. The Snowy Owl I found at 1 pm was just East of Meresa Road B on Killdeer road looking South. Luckily I found a dirt road closer to the Owl at marker 2000 and headed East towards the Owl. It remained there for the better part of an hour sitting amid a field filled with unturned corn stubble.
Good luck and good birding, Jim -
