Howdy all,

Mike Berg found an adult male WESTERN TANAGER at Saunder's Point in
Gladstone, Delta County on Tuesday (5/17) afternoon. The bird was still
present as of noon today as observed by the NMU spring ornithology class, a
bird that may of helped this group of fledgling bird-watchers become hooked
on this passion (addiction??) so many of us seem to suffer from.

Saunder's Point is the east-most point sticking into Little Bay De Noc just
north of Van Cleave Park in the City of Gladstone. The bird seems to work a
loop that circles the the eastern tip and south along the small woodlot that
is bordered by a boardwalk on the lakeside and a sidewalk on the city side.
Patience and diligence in searching is a must for this bird!

Lots of migrants hitting the Upper Peninsula with warbler species counts
reaching 20+ species over the last few days at near-by Peninsula Point.

Enjoy the rest of spring migration!
