The vociferous Worm-eating Warbler and Summer Tanager pair were both easily
found this morning at the picnic area at Warren Dunes State Park,
Berrien Co. The warbler was singing high up, yet visible, in the trees on
the hillside beyond the north end turn around. The male and female tanager
were easily seen in the trees on the hillside directly behind the bathrooms.
Both of these species are audible at the same time here - not something I
have ever experienced in MI.

Also of interest was an Alder Flycatcher at the Nature Conservancy Dayton
Wet Prairie Preserve. This also is in Berrien Co. south of the town of
Buchanan on Curran Road, between Sage Road to the west and Oak Forest to the
east. It was on the north side of the road, just east of the Nature
Conservancy sign.

Many thanks to Kip Miller and others for posting these birds and directions
to them.

Good birding,
Rick Brigham
