Hi all,
I didn't do any "hardcore" birding this morning, but wanted to send a brief
message that Park Lake is still holding quite a few waterfowl. This morning
I counted 350+ birds on the water. Most were ring-necked duck, but mixed in
were some redhead, bufflehead, widgeon, ruddy duck, pied-billed grebe (and
mallards +Canada geese). Friday I canoed the south shoreline and put up 6
blue-winged teal. I also am pretty certain that I had a horned grebe go by
this weekend, plus had a large pair of swans pass through that were not mute
swans (possible Trumpeter?). The numbers of birds has been variable, and
I've typically seen fewer waterfowl in the evening.
Dan
