Birders,

I apologize for the delay in reporting as I'm still recovering from the 850
mile round-trip drive yesterday.

Both the adult male and presumed adult female Anna's Hummingbirds visited
the feeders in Grand Marais yesterday, November 1, at least ten times during
the time we were there (9:30-11:30 a.m.). When not at the feeders, the male
spent a lot of time in the apple tree just west of the house, singing
persistently. The homeowners, Pat Grasser and Sharon Cashin, are delightful
and very hospitable. They showed me photos of the adult male they took on
October 24, and they believe the birds have probably been present since the
first week of October. These hummers could depart tomorrow, or stay until
Christmas. They're well worth the effort to see.

Out near the marina at Grand Marais, there was a flock of about 60 Bohemian
Waxwings, and Snow Buntings were there too, as well as nearly everywhere
else in the UP including along dirt roads like Soo Junction and Hulbert Bog.
