Subject: Western Kingbird & Shorebirds, Alger Co
Jean Carpenter kindly left me a message that she had seen a Western Kingbird
at Carpenter Creek in Grand Marais today. (I don't know where that creek
is, but assume anyone in Grand Marais would.) She also reported good
numbers of shorebirds, including a Marbled Godwit and Ruddy Turnstones.
Two Ruddy Turnstones were also at Sand Point in Munising today, and another
was along the shore of Lake Superior near the mouth of the AuTrain River.
Two Semipalmated Plovers, two Semipalmated Sandpipers, one White-rumped
Sandpiper, and one Baird's Sandpiper were nearby. Hopefully this shorebird
fun will continue. Scott
