Emily and I visited Potato Creek Sunday to hike as migrants are 95% gone. Mostly the usual suspects except for one good-lookin dude...a Blue Grosbeak on upland Trail 4. Loox like he overshot by a couple hundred miles +/-...no doubt with help by the strong southerly winds lately.  No sign of other males or a female at PC. Will have to investigate again later this week...

Interestingly enough, a friend of mine in Granger, Indiana, had one in his heavily wooded backlot property last evening. I have heard other reports of sightings in NW Indiana as well as one in Warren Woods north of Three Oaks, Michigan....just north of the state line.

Backlog:  Emily and I saw several very exhausted males and females in early April at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West, as they had just blown in from their trans-Gulf trip...again on strong SW winds at that time. We knew it would likely be the only time this year we got to watch such a beautiful bird...especially so many days in a row. Glad we were wrong.

Rock out with your binocs out!

Tim & Emily
