White-winged Crossbills - Kent County (Calvin College)

Today, I began attending the Worship Symposium and was blessed with more
White-winged Crossbills throughout the day.  I observed 9 of them with
binocs (3 male, 6 female) from 12:15-12:30; and heard them again between
sessions at 2:40, and 4:40.  They were working the trees running east and
west between the Chapel and the south side of Heimenga Hall.

Back on the 1/1/8/09 I also had 3 crossbills in the aforementioned (by Bill
Sweetman) spruce trees in bordering the Spoelhof Center parking lot after
finding the female Snowy Owl at the GR Ford Airport.  I got these pictures
with my little Fuji point-and-shoot:
