Listers,

Robert Epstein and I went White-winged Crossbilling today and eventually
found some in every County we tried.

Oakland
A flock of about 50 White-winged Crossbills in West Bloomfield at about 9:15
am. Specifically they were at 14 Mile and Camelot (between Drake and
Halsted) moving around the entrance to the West Bloomfield Woods subdivision.

Livingston
After striking out in the Pine Creek sub of Brighton we got a tip that
White-winged Crossbills had been seen at Brighton State Recreation area and we did
find them (about 20) just past the Tree Improvement building on Brighton
Lake Road east of Chilson Road - just before the railroad tracks.

Ingham
We worked our way through Williamston and found at least 7 White-winged
Crossbills on the northwest corner of Zimmer and Barry Roads in some younger
conifers that were 10 to 15 feet tall.

Clinton
We found a single juvie White-winged Crossbill in the Cemetery on Webster
Road south of Bath on our second extensive effort there on our second extensive
tour of the lovely town of Bath.

Shiawassee
Toward the end of the day we connected with at least 3 White-winged
Crossbills in the Rose Lawn Cemetery on Elsworth Road east of M-52 just outside of
Perry.

Please continue to post your Crossbill sightings.
