W-w Crossbills Eaton Co

Folks -

   Had at least two White-winged Crossbills yesterday (31st) when I was doing 
some re-cycling after work at the corner of Millett and Lansing.  Heard them 
and couldn't figure out why they would be at that particular spot, then 
noticed a half dozen big spruce loaded with cones nearby. Saw two birds picking 
about in those trees.

   This place is directly across from Woldumar Nature Center and I would 
expect any crossbill activity in the general area to be centered there.  There are 
numerous small stands of mature conifers scattered in the neighborhood as 
well.
