Snowy Owl FOUND (Friday) - Lenawee County

Lyle Hamilton and Robert Epstein both just called me to say that Scott 
Jennex spotted the Lenawee County owl.  Scott, Robert Epstein, Karl 
Overman, and Lyle are on it now.  As of 2:00pm it is sitting on the 
ground in the middle of a cornfield on the north side of Holloway Rd., 
east of Rixom Rd.  It is so far out in the field that only a poor look 
can be gotten even with a scope, partly because of heat shimmer.  (I 
think that is probably due to open water in a drainage ditch that runs 
diagonally across the field.)

To date this owl has been seen on banks of drainage ditches, on top of a 
rock pile, and on the ground in the middle of a field.  All sightings 
have been along Holloway in the vicinity of Rixom or along Rixom north of 
Holloway to Sutton Rd.
