N. Shrike, Ottawa Co.

I saw a singing/calling Northern Shrike at the Upper Macatawa Natural Area, southeast of Zeeland, in Ottawa County at about 11 am on Friday, 2-13-09.  Use the 84th Avenue entrance, north of Adams Street.  Follow the paved path across the first bridge and under the power lines.  Scan the tree  branches over the water and the woods across the water.  It was seen between the power lines and the second bridge.  Bring your scope!
