Birders...

This past weekend was a good time to head north.   There were lots of birds to be seen.   Some of the highlights follow:

HAWK OWL  --   Two locations.   Same as previously reported.  Corner of M28 and McCabe.    And also about 1.5 miles east of Pickford.

ROUGH - LEGGED HAWK  ----   One seen along Hwy 129

N. SHRIKE  ---  Seen along 9 Mile Road

PURPLE FINCH  ----   Seen at many locations

COMMON REDPOLLS  ---  Seen at many locations.

PINE SISKINS  ----  Very common at many locations.

ROUGH GROUSE  ----    Seen a few times

ROBIN   ----   One at Dunbar.    And also a small flock along Hyw 123.

WW CROSSBILLS  ---   Several at Taq Falls visitor center.

BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS  ---   A flock of about 35 along Hwy 123 about 4 to 5 miles north of Eckerman.

EVENING GROSBEAKS   ----   A flock of three dozen about 5 miles west of I-75 on M 28.  Just east of Midway Road at 7767 West M28.
AND... a flock of 40+ at a feeder on Hyw 123  east of the entrance to the Lower Falls at Taqmnon.   This is on the south side of the road about 1/4 mile east of the '76' gas station.    There were dozens of birds coming to the feeder.   Many species present.  Quite a sight.

PINE GROSBEAKS  --- Scattered sighting throughtout the area.

Three visits, over two days, to Hulbert Bog produced no birds.
