Smith's Longspurs Berries Co Wed

Karl Overman and I arrived at Buffalo Rd between Beaver Dam and Avery Roads Wednesday at 9:00 am. By 9:15 we. heard rattling calls of many Smith's Longspurs as a flock flew from the north to the south cornfield where they landed. We saw one male in partial breeding plumage as well as one female on the ground 20 feet from the road.

There were at least 30 individuals birds present.
