Yesterday enroute to Kalamazoo I stopped at the corner of Anderson and Victory Dr. in NW Mason county and could not relocate the dove. It was very windy and late in the afternoon so it was difficult to check the area.
I returned this morning and spent over an hour walking the road, checking mourning doves near and far and covered the area for at least a half mile east/west/north/south of the corner without luck. I did see two Brewer's Blackbirds in the field NW of the corner. It was windy with intermittent rain showers but I did have some still periods without rain when the birds were singing and conditions were good for finding the bird, then again with my luck the sky could have been darkened with flocks of Eurasian Collared-Doves and I would have missed them.
