Folks -

At 1415 (2:15p) today (Friday) I had at least 1 Buff-breasted Sandpiper in
the freshly scraped field to the NE of Royston and Davis in Eaton Co. This is
directly to the SW of Lansing. There were about 100 Killdeer in the same
field. Just as I was getting a good scope view of the Buff-breasted a tractor
spooked most of the birds and I saw this bird or another in flight. They settled
in another part of the same field.

There was not much more to be seen on the sod farms. I did have two small
groups of migrant warblers south of there in low areas along Nixon Rd.

The Lakewood sewage lagoons near Lake Odessa had a few shorebirds including 2
Baird's and there were two winter plumage Black Terns there as well. This
facility is not open on the weekends.

Take care. - Doug McWhirter
