Yesterday, 09/01/08, there were 16 Great Egrets at Meijer Gardens on the north end of the pond/wetlands.  Information from 08/31/08 phone call from friend indicated there were 10 on that day.  I personally have never seen this many Great Egrets in one spot at the same time in Michigan!
