2nd hand Black-headed & Sabine's Gulls, Muskegon Co., 25 Oct

I seem to be a magnet for 2nd hand accidentals lately -- hopefully I'll actually see one of these birds myself soon!

Today, 25 Oct 2008, I received a call from Jonathan Lautenbach asking me to post the following for him.  He reports an adult basic Black-headed Gull and juvenile Sabine's Gull from the south jetty at Pere Marquette park in Muskegon.  The Black-headed was seen around 8:45 AM, last heading due west over the lake.  It was loosely associating with 15 Bonaparte's Gulls, and was described by Jonathan as similar in pattern to Bonaparte's, but larger (halfway between Bonaparte's and Ring-billed in size).   At closest it was 100yds out.  The Sabine's Gull was seen around 9:15 AM heading SSW.
