Rough-legged Hawk - Charlevoix Co. - pics

Birders,

I spotted a light-phased Rough-legged Hawk soaring over the quarry on Bells
Bay Rd. just south of Charlevoix on US-31 this morning.  I managed a few
pics from the car as it hovered and soared high overhead.

Earlier in the morning I stopped at Fisherman's Island State Park
(Charlevoix Co.) and found (6) American Golden Plovers and 1 Dunlin in basic
plumage
at the tip of the island.  A Bald Eagle was also seen, along with a dozen or
so Dark-eyed Juncos.  I digiscoped the Plovers and Dunlin.

Yesterday evening I stopped at the Elk Rapids Sewage Ponds and found only
Killdeer on the dikes.  A single male Redhead, and a male and female
Ring-necked Duck and immature Blue-winged Teal were the only ducks on the
near pond.
