MBRC vacancies- a call for letters of interest

The Michigan Bird Records Committee is currently (October 8 2008) accepting letters of interest to fill two upcoming vacancies in its membership. Interested persons should submit, by email, a brief letter of interest to the MBRC chair (me) at larus10 at hotmail.com as soon as possible. The letter should include the following:

1) why you are interested in joining the committee
2) all relevant experiences and qualifications
3) your ability to meet deadlines and to attend 2 meetings annually

As per our bylaws terms last 3 years. Each member may serve up to two consecutive terms, at which time he/she must leave the committee for at least 1 year before reconsideration.

The committee will be selecting two new members at some time during the next several weeks, and the new terms will begin on 1 Jan 2009. Please circulate this announcement freely to anyone who may be interested, and I also encourage you to forward it to other relevant listservs I may have omitted.
