Listers,

This morning at about 8:15 am I was able to re-find the young King Eider
that Nathan Crawford discovered & photographed yesterday at Belle Isle in
Detroit. The Eider was flying east into Canadian territory off the southeast
corner of the island, east of the Coast Guard station when I found it. The bird
was no longer visible when I left, but I expect it to follow the current back to
the vicinity of Belle Isle eventually.

Also of note was a flock of about thirty White-winged Crossbills flying low
over the trees on the island. I could not tell if they stopped or continued
down river.

Good birding,

Scott Jennex
