Just a correction it would be the South Fishing Pier next to the Coast Guard HQ. Sorry. Thanks.

Hello Birders,
Today at about 3:30 pm, while birding Belle Isle I spotted a lone IMMATURE KING EIDER from the end of the North Pier next to the Coast Guard HQ. I watched it for 20 minutes. It was spending it's time floating around the outskirts of the pier. Spent a little time with a Mallard Pair before venturing NW towards Detroit along the shoreline.
Also of interest (to me anyway lol) were a pair of Horned Grebes, Peregrine Falcon (resting on the lawn with the Canada Geese, no catch to be seen), Cackling Goose, Imm. Black Crowned Nightheron, Bonaparte's gull.
I uploaded a pic of the Eider on the photo sharing site.
Good Birding!
