Hello,

Just after 12:00 pm today, a Grand Rapids Audubon field trip located 11
Franklin's Gulls in the field on the south east side of 62nd and 128th.
This is the traditional Sandhill Crane field and there were 99+ cranes
present today too. The Franklin's Gulls were feeding on the field mixed in
with a flock of 300 some Ring-billed Gulls. They had an extensive black
hood with a white forehead. The folded wingtips were black with large white
spots. The mantle was a darker shade of gray than the Ring-billed Gulls.

Also in Allegan County today at 9:30am was a flock of 20 Black Scoters at
Douglas Beach. There were out in the heavy surf just south of the public
beach. Douglas Beach is just north of Center St.

Good Birding,

Steve Minard
