The Eurasian Tree Sparrow was seen at the feeders again today. A Lark
Sparrow was found by David Bell yesterday, but of 4:00 was not relocated today as.
Also found today were a female Yellow-headed Blackbird and a Carolina Wren.
The wren was heard 15-20 times, but never seen. Today was the WPBO birdathon
to raise money to support our summer owl banding, and it went very well. There
was a huge fall out seen in the lighthouse beams last night. Additional
sightings today included; 23 species of warbler, lots of Least and Yellow-bellied
Flycatchers, Piping Plover, and Clay-colored Sparrow. I've been up since 8
PM yesterday, or I'd give more details of today's sightings. We banded 7
Saw-whets and 1 Great Horned before the rain hit last night. A word to the wise,
don't let a Great Horned bite you in the ribs, it really hurts.
