Hello all,
This afternoon (about 9:30-2:00) Kevin Welsh and I birded most of Point
Mouillee SGA. The best shorebird habitat was in the eastern part of the Long
Pond Unit. There, we had one nice female RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, two WILSON'S
PHALAROPES, four WHIMBREL, dozens of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, SHORT-BILLED
DOWITCHERS, and one WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER.

Other Birds included two SANDERLINGS on a shallow rock island in cell four,
GADWALL, RUDDY DUCK, both SCAUP, RING-NECKED DUCK, BLUE-WINGED TEAL,
REDHEAD, COMMON LOON, and LEAST BITTERN. Terns were in very high numbers,
with all four species present. There was one BONEPARTE'S GULL in cell three.
Perfect day to be outside.
