Just received word that Tex Wells, Sean Bachman, Scott Jennex and others are currently on the Neotropic Cormorant at the end of the s. pier at Grand Haven, as of 1:30PM, 6 May. The bird is much farther offshore than it was this morning, and it has been difficult to find since 11AM when it was lost for about 2 hours or so, once behind (north of) the north pier, other times flying south of the south pier.
Patience may be required, as the bird is underwater much of the time (catching lots of fish), and it often disappears for minutes at a time or longer.
Good luck,
Caleb Putnam
