Two Lark Sparrows were found within Alger County Saturday. The first was located by Joanie Hubinger. The information from her
post on upbirders.org was: "On my morning 2 mile walk, I found a Lark
Sparrow at 9:35 am, at the
west end of Old M-28 where it meets M-28 near Shelter Bay. I "ran" home
to get Mark and we relocated it just west of the Old M-28/M-28
intersection on the north side of road around 10:30am. We observed the
bird at close range and took photos....forwarded to Skye Haas. Left the
bird around 11:30 am."

The second bird was just north of M28 on Grand Island Ferry Road in Munising. This road is the second road intersecting M28 immediately west of the large Holiday Inn Express positioned at the crest of the large hill on the west end of town. This bird was feeding along the edges of Grand Island Ferry Road within 30 yards of its intersection with M28.

Both birds were observed and photographed by others Saturday evening. I apologize for the lateness of this post. Scott
