Subject: Summer Tanager Muskegon County (Montague) April 30

I posted on Mich-Chat and was informed this siting should be posted here as
well.

Yesterday, April 30, we observed a male SUMMER TANAGER in 1st year plumage
on one of our backyard feeders. He's also been seen frequently this
morning. (We just recently arrived home so haven't had time to verify his
presence this afternoon.)

If you'd like to take a chance to observe this bird, you're more than
welcome to come.

Please note: our house is under restoration right now, so please know there
will be people working on the front porch area.

I am right in the city of Montague. At the (only) traffic light in Montague
- coming from Whitehall - go straight through the light and up the hill -
that is Dowling St. If you're coming from the north, you'll be taking a
right at the light, heading up the hill.

On the top of the hill is Meade St - it only goes left.

Go one and a half blocks down Meade.

We don't have numbers on our house right now (due to the
restoration/construction) but we are the third house on the right past
Church St. There is a white sign in the front yard with our contractor's
info on it.

You may park in front of our house or across the street from our house.
(There are no houses across from us - just a parkway)

Looking at my house, go to the left side and you'll see the gate open to our
back yard. Right inside the gate is the feeding station where the Tanager
has been feeding. There is a good view to these feeders from the side yard.
He's very fond of the dish of peanuts and likes to sit in the large maple
that my feeder is sitting under.

Please do not go into the backyard as there are quite a few construction
supplies and tools about right now.

Thanks and good luck,

~ Kris Slager ~
