Birders-
The longstanding Pine Grosbeaks at the end of Snow Den Trail in the west unit of the Lapeer State Game Area are still present. This morning, 16 Mar 2008, my Dad and I had about 17 individuals right at the parking lot at the south end of Snow Den Trail.
There was also a flock of about 90 Bohemian Waxwings (and no Cedars) present just east along the famous row of berry trees.
Directions: Take M-24 north of Lapeer to Barnes Lake Rd. Turn west on Barnes Lake Rd and travel 2.75 miles west to Snow Den Trail. Park at the south end of Snow Den Trail and walk the line of berry laden trees to the east.
Good Birding,
Caleb Putnam
