Birders-

Macklin Smith reports that the Audubon's Warbler near Lowell (Kent Co.) is still, 14 March, present at the property just east of Bob Tarte's house at 10696 Fulton. It was **not** seen at the most recent location (i.e. 1/4 mi. east of Bob's house near the yellow road sign indicating a right turn for eastbound traffic), but halfway between the yellow sign and Bob's house. He said it was inactive and mainly sitting still in the canopy, and it took him over 2 hours searching to find it.

The bird is not, to our knowledge, visiting the feeders at Bob's house any longer. I assume it will depart its winter territory very soon, so I'd recommend going this weekend if you want a good chance.

Don't forget that if and when this subspecies is split from Myrtle Warbler there will be only 2 accepted records for Michigan, so this is a pretty rare opportunity. That said, it's admittedly not guaranteed that this bird will be accepted- we anticipate a significant specimen review to verify that this bird's features are shown in a relatively large proportion of presumed Audubon's from the west.

Good Birding,
Caleb
