Black-necked Stilts, Monroe Co.

At about 1:00 pm today (June 19) I saw the 2 Black-necked Stilts  
reported previously at the Point Mouillee State Game Area.  They were  
in the same place as seen yesterday--in Long Pond near the  
intersection of the middle dike and the dike that separates Long Pond  
and Bloody Run.  Probably the best way to see them is to proceed  
southeast a hundred yards or so along the dirt dike that runs  
parallel to, and is just across a ditch from, the middle dike, and  
look for a sign marked "9" out in the water.  The Stilts were in the  
dead vegetation on the far shore, behind and a little to the left of  
the sign.  I think they are nesting there, or intend to do so.  When  
I was there, one of them drove off a blackbird that got a little close.
