Greetings,

The previously reported Kentucky Warbler at the Petersburg SGA in western
Monroe County was present and singing sporadically over the course of about 20
minutes on Saturday morning. Robert Epstein and I arrived at the SGA on Lulu
Rd around 7 am and took a very wet trek back to the woods others have
reported the Kentucky from. We passed a crew of excellent birders on their way into
the field while we were on our way out and later heard that they were not
able to locate the bird. We parked in the lot on the North side of the road,
walked East to the long field, North thru the field and the wooded edge to the
thicker field, through that overgrown field to the edge of the woodlot and
eventually heard the bird there. I briefly heard the Northern Parula closer to
the parking area and the other group had one of the Yellow-breasted Chats, also
near the parking area. We did not try for the previously reported Lark
Sparrow.

Good Birding,

Scott Jennex
Ferndale
