Greetings,

Mid-afternoon today I had a
singing Yelow-throated Warbler on the Swan Creek Trail in the Allegan
State Game Area. It was just a short distance (1/10 mile) up the trail
from the parking lot. This parking lot is on the north side of 118th Ave.
east of the creek. The trail enters the woods at the north end of the lot.
The trail does become indistinct due to
deadfalls and the nondescript
leaf-mat on the forest floor, so keep an eye on where you are. However,
the trail never enters the new burn on your right. The bird was moving
about in the tops of large oaks and white pines along the bluff.

It sounded like spring at this spot this afternoon with singing
Blackburnian, Cerulean & Pine Warbler, Am. Redstart, Acadian
Flycatcher and Yelow-throated Vireo as well as the more expected
inhabitants.

Good birding,
Rick Brigham
Douglas MI
