Heermann's Gull~ Houghton County 7/18

Greetings all,

Joe Youngman found and photographed a juvenile/1st cycle HEERMANN'S GULL at the waterfront park in Chassel, Houghton County. This is just east of US-41 in the "downtown" section of Chassel. The bird was sitting on the beach with some Ring-billed Gulls. The bird has twice flown off towards the north, the second time it did not come back, nor has it been relocated as of 2:30 PM. There are birders currently looking for the bird, and any positive updates will be posted immediately. I believe the bird was first found around 10ish.
