Hi birders,
We saw the Townsend's Solitaire today - Thurs. 1/31 at about 2:15 PM
at the Kitchel-Lindquist Dunes Preserve. It was back about 200-250
yards back into the jack pine area - kind of at the back side of the
first main clump of pines. It was perched up in an Oak tree to the
NE of the pine area and then flew down into a juniper. While
observing this bird through binoculars 6 bald eagles entered our
field of view - chasing each other around. At least four of them
were adult plumage. Not a bad backdrop for the Solitaire!
Have fun,
Bonnie and Janie Stout
