Howdy Birders!

Peter Braswell started today with our lifer Purple Sandpiper just before the
pier at Grand Haven, along with many waterfowl, gulls, and a few Bald Eagles
(7:45-9).

Got to see the Townsend's Solitaire (11:30) on our first trip to the
Kitchel-Lindquist Dunes Preserve with at least 8 eagles throughout the
park. I just heard Jack Pohler and Greb B (Houghton Lake) saw the bird
later in the day in the same juniper.

Finished at Muskegon Wastewater, highlights: a beautiful Hooded Merganser
(far north dike) and a Northern Shrike (south of E. Apple Ave, by the
radio-controlled airport). I've seen the shrike there fairly often (and
only once on the north side of the plant).
Good birding to you all!! ~Phil Vreeman
