19 White-winged Crossbills and a Pine Siskin were visiting the large white
pine with abundant cones just north of the intersection of Frederick Ave and
Crosby St NW in Grand
Rapids<http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=frederick+and+crosby+st.,+49504&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=22.709489,36.914063&ie=UTF8&ll=42.989518,-85.699539&spn=0.010202,0.018024&z=15>
.
The crossbills were returning repeatedly to this same tree, so it is
possible they could be relocated there tomorrow. Greenwood Cemetery to the
west also has lots of conifers.
Carol Snoek and I also found 15 White-winged Crossbills in our section of
the Allegan SGA CBC this morning. They landed briefly in the spruces at the
corner of Recreation Rd and 122nd Ave

Hutchin's Lake. It seems like this spot might not hold crossbills for long,
but it might still be worth a shot.
Good birding,
