Black Scoter Washtenaw Co 12-14

A female Black Scoter is still present on Big Portage Lake in extreme  
northern Washtenaw County as of about 4:00 pm today. There is some open water on  
both sides of the Dexter Pinckney Road at the bridge and waterfowl is visible on 
 both sides so if you don't locate the Scoter on the north/east (Big Portage  
Lake) side, check Little Portage Lake across the street. The bird was  
initially found on Saturday and posted locally. Several birders were present and  
easily seeing the Black Scoter with binoculars from the narrow road edge as  it 
sat on the ice next to the open water. Hope you get to see  it.
