Clair Circle in Ann Arbor

I enjoyed 3-4 minutes of wonderful looks at a/the female Varied Thrush  
at 8:40 am today (Wednesday). I planned for a long vigil and took my  
chair, blanket and tea and sat at the end of the neighbors fence where  
I had a pretty good sitting (better standing) view of the feeders. I  
sat down to birdless feeders at 8:30, watched a Downy come in to feed  
on some suet, then a House Sparrow came in, then a Junco, then a  
flurry of Juncos and House Sparrows and the Varied Thrush. It fed at  
the base of the second feeder from the left for 3 minutes, then moved  
into the spruces behind the feeders and sat for another 3 minutes  
before all birds flew of behind the evergreens.
My only regret is that I didn't bring my camera!

My suggestion is to walk in via the driveway at 1100 (garage side of  
the house, of course) and settle in near the neighbors fence, as long  
as there are not too many folks.
