I forgot to mention that the Ruff and other birds I mentioned were in Cell 3.
Also, I just checked one last book (Smithsonian Birds of North America--Life
Histories of More Than 930 Species), and it says "In flight, females show a
U-shaped white band on a dark brown rump; males show a white oval patch on
each side of the dark tail and white underwings". Based on my flight shots, I
think this bird is a male. Comments?
