Mich Listers,
This a.m. I birded at Saul Lake Bog near Cannonsburg and stumbled on a Le
Conte's Sparrow. If you're interested, it was found N/NW of the parking
area by about 150yds on the edge of the field between the 2 boardwalk
overlooks of the bog. It flushed from the short grass and perched for
several minutes 5' high in a shrub on the edge of the field offering GREAT
views.
Saul Lake Bog is E of Cannonsburg on 6 mile. 6 mile turns gravel as you
head E. JUST before you hit the curves in the road there's an unmarked
driveway on the left. Turn here and proceed to the signs. If you take 6
mile all the way to Gavin Lake Rd. you've gone 1/4mile too far.
Other mentionables from Muskegon Co. this week are a White-eyed Vireo (a
migratory over-shoot that didn't stick around) and 17 American White
Pelicans flying high in the sky headed North - both sightings were along the
lakeshore.
Happy spring-time birding to all.
