Scott Jennex, Myles Willard and I birded Fish Point, Tuscola County
and Huron County on Saturday April 5th. Scott picked out for us a
Ross's Goose in a flock of 300 or so Canada Geese resting on a point
of land in Saginaw Bay in Huron County east of Caseville. This was
viewable from a public right of way to the shore called Slivan Ct.,
which happens to run along side probably the largest home on the
south side of Saginaw Bay. There was also a "Blue" Goose in the same
flock.
There was a modest hawk flight today at Port Crescent State Park.
Monica Essenmacher had been there for several hours when we arrived
at the hawk platform. No Golden Eagles today. We saw one Merlin.
No Osprey there yet. Rough-legs and Red-shoulders passing by today
though the latter went by before we arrived.
Cheers,
