Brant at Lighthouse Park St Clair County

      From Lighthouse park, I observed seven Brant flying down the mouth 
of the St Clair River this morning at 11am.  Remarkably they wheeled 
around and landed in the surf right in front of me.  They were 
apparently attracted by a small flock of mixed gulls lazing on the 
beach.  The birds paddled around in the surf for 20 minutes before 
allowing the current to carry them south and out of sight.
