Birders,
On Sunday, October 7, the two Snowy Egrets that have been present since
early September at Metro Beach Metropark, Macomb Co., were still present.
Also still present Sunday, as evidenced by it's recapture in my mist nets,
was a male Hooded Warbler that I banded on Friday. I've never seen a Hooded
Warbler in October in Michigan before. Other interesting birds at Metro
Beach on Sunday included an Eastern Wood-Pewee that appeared like it had
recently fledged, a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (briefly), a Northern Parula
(banded), and a Northern Waterthrush (briefly).

Every day, the hummingbird eats its own weight in food.
You may wonder how it weighs the food. It doesn't.
It just eats another hummingbird.
