Oct 4 Cave Swallow, Whitefish Pt.

The Cave Swallow reported by the Ohio group was not  seen be any of the WPBO 
staff. This would be only the 2nd individual CASW ever  seen at Whitefish 
Point, and the early date for the state. Of the previous  MI records only 2 have 
occurred in Oct, one of which was on 10/30. We had  observed a Cliff Swallow at 
the Point for several days prior to this  report. A quick search of all 
posted rare bird alerts showed no  other Cave Swallows being reported anywhere. The 
other CASW from Whitefish  Point occurred in 2004, a year in which CASW were 
documented at numerous sites  along the Great Lakes.
