Purple Sandpiper Wayne-Monroe Counties 11-24

While not seeing yet another Gannet from the platform at the Pointe  Mouillee 
HQ boat launch in Wayne County this morning I had a Purple Sandpiper  fly by 
with a flock of about 10 Dunlins. The whole crew flew quickly past at a  
distance of about 30 yards at the closest and continued straight toward the  dike 
at the South side of the river before veering to the right and disappearing  
out of sight. I was not able to relocate them in the mud flats off Jefferson or  
on the visible dike.
 
Also of note was a small group of 3 Evening Grosbeaks including one adult  
male that flew by very close to the platform and onward to the South.
