Greetings Birders,
Today, in between stoppages of rain (which were too few and far between), I had an adult Northern Shrike (on my way to my house for lunch) on Wamplers HTS DR. (Brooklyn, MI). The bird was sitting on a small conifer in?the field that is across from the houses on the lake side.
The bird was on the right just?past the second hill.
I live on this road.?My feeders were fairly active, despite the rainy conditions. The Pine Siskin numbers are still pretty good, although not the 150+ I had on Sunday. There are still?40-50 birds, however. There seems to be two-three flocks that change from time to time.
The three Purple Finches are still present as is one Fox Sparrow. The five C. Redpolls come and go with the changing of the Siskin flocks during the day. Unfortunately, no Evening Grosbeaks were seen/heard today in the neighborhood when I was there.
6 Tundra Swans, 22 Rudy Ducks, 2 Buffleheads,?a lone C. Goldeneye and a single C. Loon were just off my beach as well. Unfortunately, the Red-th. Loon from last week was not seen.
My website has an updated picture of one of the siskins from last week on the homepage.
If anyone needs some of these birds for your Jackson, CO lists...lemme know and I'll let'cha know how to get there.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
