Say's Phoebe - Berrien Co - 11/21

Tim Baerwald relocated the SAY'S PHOEBE on the beach north of the St. Joseph River mouth this morning. When Pat Underwood and I left at noon it was on the beach at Tiscornia Park (adjacent to the north pier), but it had worked as far north as Jean Klock Park before returning to the south.

This bird seems unfazed by harsh weather. It was actively feeding (or searching for food) out in the wind and steady rain along the open beaches. It would often perch on snow fences, driftwood, logs and posts and often dropped down on to the sand as well.
