Northern Goshawk. Jackson, County, MI

Greetings Birders,

Saturday (this morning at 7:30) I had a Northern Goshawk come into my feeding station?attempting to capture one of?the passerines feeding there. This bird is around the 35th species to visit my feeding station since I put it up on August 28th. Not too bad for my first feeding season.

Other noteable birds this week at my feeders include: Evening Grosbeaks (3) Fox Sparrows (several) Pine Siskins (many) Purple Finches (7) and 1-2 Common Redpolls that hang with the siskins.

Good yard birds this week: Tundra Swans and Common Loons just off my beach and lots of migrant ducks coming in on the lake.
